The People

 

In order to provide you with the highest quality service, the staff at Hammer Restoration receives ongoing training in the latest disaster restoration technologies and other industry innovations. Our team of experts includes IICRC-certified smoke damage cleaning and electronics cleaning professionals, IICRC-certified water damage restoration leads, licensed builders, and project managers with extensive experience in both residential and commercial construction and restoration. As the Hammer Restoration team grows, we carefully select new personnel using strict hiring guidelines.

 

Paije Alfano

Branch Manager - Saginaw

Paije has worked in the restoration industry since 1999. She has worked in the office, also as a Project Manager, later moving into the Hiring Manager position. Paije was promoted in 2009 to Branch Manager for the Saginaw location. She holds several certifications through IICRC, including the Master Fire & Smoke Restorer designation, as well as her residential builder’s license.

Jeff Brown

Project Manager - Mt Pleasant

Jeff joined the Hammer team in 2009 bringing more than 30 years experience, including 18 years as a construction company owner and/or project manager. He started in residential construction in 1982, working into commercial construction in 1986. He is a State of Michigan licensed contractor/builder since 1989 and studied construction management curriculum at Ferris State University. Jeff is also a State of Michigan certified firefighter since 1994, also certified in cold-water rescue in 1995.

Steve Gohm

President

Steve has worked in Restoration since 1987. In addition to his residential builders license, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Building Construction Management. Steve has taken advanced courses in fire restoration, cleaning and water remediation. He has also served as a volunteer firefighter in Saginaw Township from 1993-2003.

As the president of Hammer Restoration Inc., Steve is committed to providing his workforce with the latest technology available and ongoing training to ensure that Hammer customers receive the best service possible.

Jay Gustin

Project Coordinator - Saginaw

Jay has been working in the construction and building industry since 1990. He also has years of hands on new home construction and remodeling experience. Jay is IICRC Certified for Water Damage Restoration, Odor Control, and Fire and Smoke Restoration. With his vast experience and training, Jay is a valuable asset to the Hammer commercial and residential restoration team.

Joe Meyers

Branch Manager - Mt Pleasant

Joe joined Hammer Restoration in 2008 as Branch Manager for the Mt Pleasant location. He moved to the area in the mid-1980’s and has been a resident of the area since. He has been in the construction and lumber industry since the early 1990’s. Joe holds a residential builders license from the state of Michigan and IICRC certifications in Fire and Smoke Restoration, Odor Control, Water Damage Restoration, Applied Structural Drying and Applied Microbial Remediation.

Scott Parsons

Project Manger - Saginaw

Scott joined Hammer in 2008 with more than 20 years experience in the lumber and construction business. He brings a vast knowledge of the building and reconstruction process to Hammer through his personal experiences in all phases of construction.

Chris Roenicke

Project Manager - Saginaw

Chris has been in the restoration/construction business since 1996. He holds his IICRC Applied Structure Drying/Mold certification and handles mold projects for the Saginaw Branch. He also holds his Michigan Residential Builder’s License. In addition to his construction experience, Chris worked in the insurance claims industry for 12 years. As project manager, Chris uses this knowledge and training to help commercial and residential property owners in difficult situations.

Jim Shafley

Project Manager - Saginaw

Jim Shafley previously owned a home inspection business from 1991 through 2003. During that time, he inspected over 7,000 homes. Before coming to Hammer in 2008 Jim worked as an estimator in the HVAC and plumbing industries. He has been a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors since 1989 and has been involved in the construction and HVAC industry since the early 1980’s.

Brenda Sutton

General Manager

Brenda has worked in the restoration industry since 1996. As General Manager she oversees all aspects of the company.

“Our staff presently holds over 75 certifications in a wide range of specialties so that we can provide appropriate and skilled service in your time of need. Beyond that, I personally am committed to hiring high caliber individuals. Believe me, they do not come a dime a dozen, so that’s why we go the extra mile to find them. I want you to be fully confident that you are hiring the most professional, reliable, courteous and experienced disaster restoration specialist available to you.”

Dennis Theisen

Project Manager - Saginaw

Dennis Theisen, a life long resident of the tri-cities, has actively worked in the cleaning and restoration business since 1976. He also spent some time working on the other side of the desk as a claims adjuster. Dennis is IICRC certified for Water Damage Restoration. He uses the knowledge and experience he has gained to assist residential and commercial property owners. With previous experience in Trauma and Crime Scene Clean Up, Dennis also heads up our Bio-Hazard team.

Amy Wolcott

Project Manager/Co-Owner

Amy has worked in restoration since 1986. Amy has her residential builders license and she has taken advanced courses in specialty drying, cleaning and mold remediation. Amy is a strong advocate of continuing education for all Hammer department managers and technicians.
